The Vysoký kámen Natural Monument is located on a rocky ridge above the village of Kámen and is part of the Leopoldovy Hamry Nature Park. The site is characterized by its imposing quartzite cliffs, which rise above the surrounding forests near the state border with Germany and reach a height of 773 meters above sea level. According to legend, a large castle once stood on Vysoký kámen, but it was cursed and struck by an earthquake. It is said that enormous treasures are hidden in the rocks, guarded by the White Lady, and access to them is granted only on Good Friday.
The rock formations resemble castle ruins and became a popular destination for hikers at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The highest rock formation is Vyhlídková skála, which is flanked by another rock tower, Větrná skála. The area is home to many different species of rock bryophytes, lichens, and ferns.
At the summit of Vysoký kámen is a developed lookout point offering magnificent panoramic views. To the southeast, you can see the Slavkovský Forest with the Lesný and Lysina hills; to the right, in the Český Forest, lies Dyleň Hill with its tower. To the southwest, you can see the German Smrčiny Mountains and Háj Hill with its observation tower, which lies above Aš. To the north rise the Ore Mountains with Špičák and the highest peak, Klínovec, featuring an observation tower and a TV transmitter. You can reach Vysoký kámen on foot by following the red hiking trail from Luby or Kraslice.
